On Thursday 31st March the Mayor of Halifax - Keith Watson made a special visit to the 18th Halifax Boys’ Brigade at Boothtown Methodist Church. Keith was a member of the now closed 10th Halifax Company at Ebenezer Methodist Church just at the top of town.

It surprised a lot of our members to hear that the Mayor of Halifax grew up just as they are doing in the Boys’ Brigade. Company Section Officer Richard smith said ‘it’s nice to have a mayor that takes an active interest in what we are doing for the young people in the local community’.

The Boys’ Brigade in Boothtown is going very well at the moment with a membership of 35. The Company hope that they will be able to raise this figure over the next session starting in September.
