We have applied and been accepted to have our Bandsmen involved in the Massed Bugle and Massed Wind Bands for the final 125th National Event. It will take place near Glasgow. The idea would be to have two joint rehearsals in Yorkshire and then there would be rehearsals on the morning of the event. We still do not have the music but assuming it is received it would be distributed by the end of the year and there would be a music only rehearsal in March and a Music and Drill Rehearsal in early April at a venue most suitable to the bands and individuals proposing to participate. We do not only want the Bands in Yorkshire to participate but would like individual brass, woodwind or percussion players to get involved also. For individuals they should be of Company Section age or above. On the weekend itself we would be leaving Yorkshire on the Friday night and travelling back on the Sunday. The final arrangements will be based on those registering their interest. The most likely is travel up overnight with late collections around the District but we also have the drivers hours to consider. We have enough budget for a Coach, Church Hall Accommodation and main meals. Any further expenditure would need to be met by those attending. Spare seats would be offered thereafter. This will be a memorable occasion for our Young People and a big opportunity to be part of a much bigger event and a very nice venue. This advert should be distributed to all Companies and registration of interest including possible numbers and instruments to Colin Preston NO LATER THAN DECEMBER 15th 2008 to enable music to be prepared over Christmas holidays.
