On Saturday 9th May, the under 26 members of the Yorkshire and Humberside District, led by Tom Clayton, had the honour of organising the finals of the national 5-a-side football competition for under 15's. The event was held at Batley Sports Centre, and 5 teams from accross the UK and Ireland took part in what was a very close competition. The final match was between 11th Warrington, the then league leaders, and 3rd Kilkeel, who were in third place 3 points behind 11th Warrington. With the rules stating that should two teams be level on points then a play off should be used to decide the winner. 3rd Kilkeel did indeed manage to beat 11th Warrington to force a play off, which unfortunately they then lost. However, well played to them and all the teams in the competition.
The event was well attended by Officials from the District, including the Secretary and President. Sir James Hill the District patron very kindly agreed to present the trophies at the end of the competiton.
