Praise must be given to the lads of the 18th Halifax Boys’ Brigade (Boothtown) for their efforts on the 16th May while running a coffee morning in memory of Ex member Tom Ogden who lost his life to meningitis back in February.
Tom had been a member for a number of years of Boothtown boys’ Brigade and had many friends in the company. It was a shock to the company when we heard that Thomas had passed away. We felt that we should do something in memory of him and set about running a coffee morning but have something there for younger end. Some body suggested having the Wii and do competitions on the games. This was a good fun for not just the younger children but some of the older adults had ago.
The event was a great success raising £275 for Meningitis UK. The Company is to also have a collection at their awards night on Wednesday 20th and hopes that this figure can be boosted up.
