Building Your Skills Course

The "Building Your Skills" course is designed to help young people develop the skills to work with others so that you can make a difference in your life and that of your Company. It is open to young people in the fourth year of Company Section (Year 10 at school) or older.

To attend the course you do not have to be working towards your President's Badge. Anyone who wants to benefit from developing their team building and negotiating skills can take part. The course will normally last for a single day, usually during a weekend. It may be possible to attend two evening sessions if necessary (e.g. for those who have Saturday jobs).

By the end of the course you should be able to:

• Understand the different roles people play in groups, and how they can change;
• Work with others in a way that strengthens the group and gets the job done;
• Use the experiences from the course to make a difference in your own Company.
