Getting Started

Speak to an Officer within your Company or Battalion who will help you whilst you are completing an Award. They will then arrange to enroll you on the Award and obtain your Entrance Pack and Record Book.

It is worth viewing the Duke of Edinburgh's Award website (www.dofe.org) before deciding on any activities you may want to try for your award. The site will provide all the information about what you will need to do to complete an activity in any of the sections.

It is upto you which activities you want to do and for how long (see the table on the Timescales page). If you choose an activity outside the BB then you will need to find a club with, or, someone willing to be your instructor. These need to have the right qualifications and not simply a friend or member of the family. They may also have to have been checked by the Criminal Records Bureau. Your Award Officer can help with this.
