Who is it for?
A valid Holiday Leadership Certificate is required by any Officer who wishes to lead a camp or holiday which includes an overnight stay. The Certificate lasts for 5 years and can be renewed for a further period of 5 years on the submission of log sheets to BB HQ.
What it Involves
The following modules reflect the National Standards of Sports, Recreational and Allied Occupations (SPRITO) National Training Organisation.
During the course participants will complete a number of modules, and by the end of the course will be able to:
- Contribute to a safe environment
- Contribute to effective working relationships
- Prepare to lead a holiday
- Administer finance and information
- Look after participants who are away from home
- Enable those with disabilities to take part
- Contribute to holiday activities
- Support the protection of children from abuse
Renewal of the Certificate
An Officer may renew their Holiday Leadership Certificate by submitting the appropriate log sheets detailing the holidays they have attended and the responsibilities they have undertaken. The minimum number of holidays required to be submitted for each period of 5 years is one. If no holiday is attended during the 5 year period the Certificate will be no longer valid. In this case the Officer will be required to attend a Holiday Leadership training course to regain the Certificate.
