The Queen’s Badge is the highest award in the Boys’ Brigade and gaining it should be an honour and your presentation should be a day you remember for life.

In order to gain the Queen’s Badge you need to have been awarded the President’s Badge. Your President’s Badge is normally gained towards the end of School Year 10.

Your Company Captain will then register you for the Queen’s Badge and you should receive your Queen’s Badge Book. You will receive a ‘paper’ copy in a folder, but you can record your records digitally by downloading this file.

You must be in at least School Year 12 to gain your Queen’s Badge and it normally takes at least 18 months to complete all of the tasks.
In order to gain your Queen’s Badge you need to do the following:
- Candidates Conference – Click here for a reminder of what was said to you at the conference (PowerPoint document)
- Participate in Skills Based Training
- Take Responsibility in the BB or Church
- Provide Voluntary Service outside the BB or Church
- Develop Interests (2 of Skill, Physical and Expedition)
- Record what you do in your Queen’s Badge Book
- Get your Captains Recommendation
- Attend a Completion Residential
You will be allocated a Queen’s Badge Advisor, who is normally appointed by your Battalion and you will also be given a Mentor, who is normally a recent Queen’s Badge holder. Your Mentor will normally be someone from your Company who you see regularly.
There is a District Facebook group which you could join for information and moral support.
